Event Details

The Bherwerre Wetlands environmental restoration and conservation project at Sanctuary Point involves the development of a nature reserve in the forest-wetland area adjacent to Cockrow Creek and St Georges Basin. It will also be used for compatible recreational pursuits. The local Aboriginal name for St Georges Basin, Bherwerre, was provided by a local Aboriginal family and has been adopted for the wetlands. Vital Wetlands: Reading Bherwerre is an exhibition of works across diverse forms and media created by a group of artists in response to their direct felt experience of walking this land, and informed by their own research into its history and significance to local communities.

Join the artists in a guided walk at the Bherwerre Wetlands at 2:00PM Saturday 01 June.
