Kim Hair

A strong affiliation with the sea is the theme that endures in much of my art practice. The sea has many moods, often unpredictable, vibrant, moving and changing. Mediums that reflect this unpredictability bring an element of excitement to art-making and allow the creative process freedom to change with the medium. Accidents happen. This is the fun bit. I have previously worked a lot in lino reduction with themes of sea and salt and have carried this into my sculpting. Most importantly I try to keep a sense of rhythm and layering that reflects the diversity of the sea, but also memory and our own life stories.
