Tina Pitsiavas

As a trained Art Therapist, Tina subscribes to the healing characteristics of art and how art practice can give voice and clarity to contemporary issues. With the intrusion of the twenty-four hour news cycle and social media, Tina’s art practice is increasingly informed by local and world events around the environment and women’s issues, where there is a sense that reports being widely distributed are fluid, chancy, uncertain and lack balance. Tina is a local artist, born in the Illawarra and after a period of time away, returned to her place of birth. She is constantly experimenting with different media but finds she is increasingly drawn to ceramics, collage and painting to produce her contemporary works.
